Unhappy Desktop Redirector Help

Please Login to Remove!

Hey guys,
I have a blackberry 7290 and I have it on the os 4.0 and have desktop software 4.0 on the computer also. Everything is working fine, but for some reason I cant get the redirector to work correctly it comes up and says Disabled but in teh status it says verify email address and just hangs and will not do anything else. I have completely restarted teh system and tried again and still the same problem, even un-installed the desktop software and still getting the same problem.

Anybody have any suggestions? Thanks alot!

Just to be certain, are you attempting to redirect mail from an Exchange server? And are you able to access that account through Outlook on that particular computer?

I had the "verify" message myself before. I had set things up with the redirector at work and had no trouble at all. When I set it up on my own system at home (yes, I have an Exchange server and Outlook at home.), it gave me the same message. I don't know why. The only difference I am aware of is that I have Exchange 2003 at home and it is Exchange 2000 at work. I dont' see where that matters though. At any rate, I had apparently forgotten it was up and running when I went to sleep that night. Woke up in the morning and somehow it was working finally! I haven't had a problem with the redirector since. Try letting it sit in that state for a long time and maybe it will get past it. It worked for me and I have no good explanation for why or why I've had no trouble since.

I mean I have it setup to use my Outlook email and just forward, but we have a Exchange 2003 Server as long with a pop email account, so i have multiple .pst but one profile.

I was toying (getting frustrated) with this this weekend. I'm not sure if it solved it, but it works with it. I created an exchange-only profile on the remote machine (haven't tried on the sbs server itself) for the redirector to work with. The other profile has my pop accounts as well. Eventually I'll move over my pop into exchange through popbeamer (assuming it remains stable) since it seems to work well over ssl connections (no static IP at home, and optonline doesn't like allowing much mail services).

The verifying problem I was running into was a problem where the redirector is sending mail out through the rim servers and the redirector/bberry is expecting to receive that mail (there's a kb 1000xx at the bberry site, can't remember exact number that runs through possible problems). Because of my setup, that mail was going to my pop server, not the account that was being sucked into exchange. As soon as I provided (in blackberry desktop->redirector settings) the proper target address that would hit exchange, things started to work.
