Default Change SureType default?

Please Login to Remove!

Whenever I want to type "see" my suretype defaults to "are" because it is the same key combination. Since I use the word "see" much more often, I'd like it to just be the default. How can I change the default SureType setting to that is automatically chooses "see" instead of "are" to begin with?

You are not the first to ask this question, it's been discussed on here quite often. When I had a 7100, I could type "see" and accept the correct version as "see" like three times in a row, and it would default to that.

Search here and you'll find those discussion threads.

I'm not quite sure you can do that. That one combination was annoying to me when I had a 7130, so I feel your pain. But I'll bet you use "are" a lot more often than you think.

JSanders is correct that you can change the default option for suretype by typing the word 3x in a row, select the word you want to be your default 1st option, and you are in business.

As far as "are" and "see" go, that one used to annoy me too. However there is a suretype shortcut that will ease your pain. Keep "are" as your default for the keypress combo of AS/ER/ER. There is a built-in shortcut that when you press AS/ER and then the space bar (or any punctuation or enter for that matter) the word gets converted to "see".

It took a while for me to trust that it would eventually come up with the right word, but once I got over that I ended up being able to fly on it. I just picked up a 8703 and I'm slow as molasses on a cold New England morning when typing something on this thing. There are features on the 8703 (a lot more keyboard shortcuts and a lot more speed dials available) that keep me from returning to the 7130, but I do miss Suretype.
