Default True Push Email via IMAP: Recovering Treo User Questions

I have just dumped my 700P on which I have been using Chatter which is a true push email client using IMAP. I set up the same account using BIS and find that mail arrives slowly and does not synch between desktop and handheld (I am using a BB 80703 on Sprint.) From my searches of this forum and reading, it looks like deleting and email on one side has NO effect on the email on the other side, despite the IMAP.

Is this in fact the case? Is there a way to get IMAP to really synch between the two devices?

If I can't make this work, it looks like a hosted BES account will give me the best results. I assume I do not have to move my entire company's email to this platform since I am the only using a BB. Again, is this true and is there a leading provider for this service? I am having trouble adjusting to the delays in receiving mail and the inability for the two devices to manage the IMAP mail. Don't want to feel like this is a step back from the Treo.
