It should work out of the box.

Go here: BlackBerry - Internet Service Email Setup

Choose your provider, and you can create an account and set your other email accounts.

I think it's fair to say that the average knowledge of contributors on here is significantly greater than the average 1st line support at any carrier. There are some exceptions however. O2 in the UK have a dedicated BB squad who are absolutely fantastic...

I too would like to have my gmail accounts on my blackberry but separated from my BES work account info. Once I set up my BIS account with Alltel would I just have all of my gmail forwarded to the blackbeery BIS account address they provide me with? Also will this be a different inbox than my BES emails?

Thanks

As a warning, don't assume that personal data on a company BES-connected Blackberry is private -- regardless of whether your mail or data arrived to the BB via BES/MDS or not.

What errors specifically?

Check blackberryfaq.com to read up on your email delivery options. I'd recommend actually just integrating your gmail account with Alltel's BIS. You can forward but most people are getting gmail pushed nearly instantly without using forwarding to their *.blackberry.net addresses.

All messages arrive in Messages. With BIS 2.0+ integrated email accounts get their own icon/view but BES mail always arrives in Messages along with everything else. There's currently no way to change this. Your best bet is to set your BES filters to forward with Level 1 notification unless you're already using Level 1 notification for other priority email.

You won't have to have your Gmail messages "forwarded." They'll be pushed immediately to your device. However, your Gmail messages will be visible by clicking the Gmail account icon on your device's screen AND from the main Messages icon. Your BES messages will be visible through main messages icon, too. In fact, all messages are visible through the Messages icon. Your separate BIS messages are visible through their own icon in addition to the Messages icon.
