Default LBS on Bell Mobility- Does it work?

Please Login to Remove!

Hey everyone,

Can someone tell me if the LBS features work with bell mobility?
Im in Canada, I tried to start the GPS on my new 8703e with bell and it keeps giving me a location in Idaho...
Does this feature work?
Can it actulally give me my location? and directions?
Or do you need additiona hardware..Its not very clear..

Any help or tips would be appreciated!

thanks

LBS via cell approx. does work provided that the application has been written to take advantage of it. We have an internally written application that does a fair job of this.

LBS != GPS - so apps such as BB Maps will not locate you without adding a GPS "puck" antenna

????? What do you mean " I tried to start the GPS on my new 8703e"???

The GPS function on the Bell 8703e is not enabled... So I am a bit puzzled!

Oh.. Now I understand... No that will not work on the Bell Mobility Network unless you have a Bluetooth GPS receiver paired with your Blackberry... That's what I do.

Cheers.

Wirelessly posted (7250: BlackBerry7250/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/109)

The GPS Bluetooth puck works great with the free Blackberry Maps application.
