Default Free email capability?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi, I'm very new to blackberry devices, in fact I purchased a 7100g from ebay just yesterday(but have yet to recieve it). I've watched the product demo on the official website but I have a question....

Is it free to use the blackberry's email features? I'm a cingular user and i KNOW that i have to have a blackberry data plan in order use the web browser, but is the same true for email?

no, you need a data plan for both email and web browsing.

I wouldn't say, "to it's fullest." You need a data plan to use many of the features included in most of the java apps. Many apps you won't even be able to install because they need to be loaded OTA (Over-the Air). If you can find apps that can be loaded via the Desktop Manager software then you can run them. I recommend getting the BB data plan from Cingular. You may be disappointed with the phone without it.

yea, i just wish there was a data plan cheaper than 39.99 per month, that's practically what i pay for my home isp. They'll be no love lost with this lack of internet capability though, i did by this phone mainly because i needed a pda(im very disorganized at this point). Does this phone have alarms for tasks sync'd through lotus or outlook?

The persnal (BIS) data plan on Cingular is 29.99 a month for unlimited data, assuming you also have a voice plan.

The $39.99 data plan you mention is for corporate BES users.

Yes, the 7100g has alarms for tasks, and you can synch it with your Desktop Manager software intalled. I know it works well with Outlook and I have not used Lotus, but lots on this board do.

THANK YOU! At first i thought (BIS) stood for "business" and i wouldn't be eligible. 29.99 seems fair
