I am looking to upgrade my standard phone to a Blackberry.
I e-mailed Sprint asking them what I needed to remove/add to my plan - knowing that there was a 99.999% chance they were going to tell me to get the $40 Data plan.
Well, the .001 chance that other would happen occured. Here is my e-mail from Sprint:
Thank you for contacting Sprint together with Nextel Online. |
I can definitely inform you what kind of plan you need if you are going to activate a BlackBerry on your phone number.
You will need to purchase a Power Vision pack for the BlackBerry and not a Vision pack (which you have added to the phone number recently).
That is an interesting response from Sprint considering that if I pretend to be a new customer signing up for Blackberry service, I am prompted by this:
BlackBerry Data PricingSM |
A Data Pack is required to complete your BlackBerry purchase. For a limited time, the Unlimited Data Pack is specially priced at $39.99/mo when you buy a Sprint PCS Voice Plan and a 2-year subscription agreement on the same device. Because of this special pricing, no additional discounts apply.
So, this leads me to believe that Sprint is clueless on Blackberry, which is the prevailing opinion I had before based on reading other member's experiences with Sprint.
