Question POP Access > Outlook emails Marked Read

Please Login to Remove!

Hi.

I am a new blackberry 7100t (t mobile) owner and I setup the BWC to read via POP from an exchange account I have at a host (1and1).

It works fine, but whenever the BWC queries to get email from the exchange server, my outlook client marks the message as read. I understand why it thinks it should do this as something external to exchange did pull the email, but I would like to prevent the emails from being marked read. I would like to see my unread emails as unread even though they were forwarded to my blackberry.

Does anyone know how to get around this?

This is more a workaround than a solution, but can you set up your mailbox at 1and1 to forward copies to your BWC account?

I actually tried this, and I love the speed, but here is my issue. When my colleague sends me exchange email, it does not route through my domain.com, it goes from exchange to exchange, thus never gets fwd'd to my BB.

Any other ideas?

How about setting your exchange up to CC everything that comes into the box and have it send to your ***.blackberry.net address? Then turn off the polling by the BWC. Its worked for me.

but is that a server setting? I am on a laptop and it can not be connected all the time. How do you set that up? Server side rule?
thanks for the help!

If you're on Exchange 2000 or 2003, that setting is in Active Directory, under the user's properties > Exchange General > Delivery Options.

Yeah, this is a hosted service for Exchange. I do not have that option.

Can't hurt to ask the admins if they'll add the forward. It's a 30 second fix.
