Default 7750 From sprint

Please Login to Remove!

Im going to keep that as short as I can

I have a treo650 from sprint which I can no longer deal with. I spend more time backing and restoring images and rebooting this device than I can take.

The device decides when and how it wants to work. I have done plenty to get it to run well but finally I called Sprint to complain after 3 months of use.

She were kind and asked if I want it to be swapped out I said no thanks. I asked if Sprint had a blackberry that I can use instead. The wowmen said why yes we do let me see if we can swap this out for you.

She came back on the phone with good news needless to say the 7750 will be here in 2 days.

Heres my question (finally) does the 7750 have Bluetooth this is going to be the only thing I will miss from the Treo 650 if the 7750 doesnt have it.

Thanks in advance

Welcom to BlackBerry Forums!

The 7750 does not have Bluetooth - sorry. The newest CDMA BlackBerry, the 7250, does have BT, but I don't think Sprint is carrying it yet. Sprint was a bit late, to say the least, jumping on the BlackBerry bandwagon. One of their execs probably tried a Treo 600/650 and figured out what a loser it was.

In any event, the 7750 does not have Bluetooth. BlackBerry Bluetooth is limited to audio/handsfree headsets; no data transfer.

Good luck with you new BlackBerry!

Too bad Sprint does not offer the 7250! The model 7750 is the slowest BlackBerry model. The model 7250 runs 5 times faster than the 7750.

Also, the Sprint 7750 does not have a fully activated TCP/IP Internet stack, which means you won't be able to run chat software (i.e. VeriChat) unless you pay extra for BES/MDS service. So that will be another thing you may miss, if you were looking forward to running third party networking software.

Talking Sprint 7250

I was just told today by my telecom staff that Sprint will be releasing the 7250 sometime in May. We are migrating towards all Sprint/T-mobile units for the cost savings and I was originally considering the 7290 from T-mobile, but now I think I will hold out another month and get the 7250 from Sprint. Has anyone else heard this good news?

If you had to choose between a Sprint 7250 vs. T-mobile 7290 and you travelled internationally only once or twice a year, what you would choose?

It's a tough call. I personally prefer GSM, since their battery life is so much better (you can last a whole weekend without bringing your charger along and without needing to turn off the BlackBerry).

I think, ultimately, my choice would be Cingular in a half a year from now, once their merger pains are over. There's usually better Cingular reception than T-Mobile, although there are zones of better T-Mobile reception.

Verizon is reported to have excellent reception in many cities such as New York City. So that's another consideration.

I am not familiar enough with Sprint to make a judgement. But keep in mind that Sprint might even delay the 7250 to June - be prepared for possible delays. The 7250 is so vastly superior to the 7750, that I feel it is worth holding off. (Unless you really really want the larger screen).

Thank you all for your advise.

Here is what I have done. If you are still following this thread.

Since Sprint is sending me out a 7750 I am going to refuse the shippment. I cant hold out for Sprint to get the 7250 as much as I want to. I cant live with this Treo 650 anymore. I loved my 600 but the 650 just isnt worth the aggravation to me.

Therefore lastnight I decided to give Cingular a try for 30 days. I now have the 7250 and so far it's great. My bluetooth headset is working better than the Treo can dream of. The upgrade to 4.0 was simple and getting my email OMG WOW. This is true "push". For anyone that is going to advise me of chatter email for the Treo I have it still cant compare sorry.

So now I have a decision to make break my contract with Sprint or hold out am HOPE that they will allow me to trade my 650 in for a 7250 IF they ever get it. I dunno I like the idea of a GSM phone if the signal is good in most of the palces I travel I might just keep it.

Any thoughts. suggestions etc..

Thanks
braz
