Default Nextel 7520 - Direct Talk feature?

Please Login to Remove!

I think I know the answer to this already, but want to cover all the bases just to be sure...

Does the 7520 BB from Nextel have the Direct talk feature? I know some of the other Nextel phones have it, but I'm curious if the 7520 does or can be enabled to?

Thanks ina dvance,
Doug

Yes, the Nextel 7520 has DC feature. The PTT is located on top of the unit and serves as a great Snooze button!

Are you talking about the newest feature MotoTalk which was talked up as Direct Talk or off network walkie talkie capabilities? If that is what you are asking, then no only 2 phones out right this moment have that capability i315, i325. But if its been made by iDEN and its a phone, its got DC. Not sure if this was what you were asking, but the info is now out there.

Thanks for the responses.

Yes...I know all about Direct Connect...I'm talking about what was first advertised as "Direct Talk". It is, in fact, an off network walkie-talkie feature. Basically short distance device to device communications. Kind of like having a built-in FRS walkie-talkie as part of your phone.

Seems like maybe they changed the feature name, but if the 7520 doesn't have it it's a moot poitn for me now.

Thanks again,
Doug

only a select few nextel handsets have direct talk. it is a motorola feature, thus BB's do not have it.
