Default BlackBerry device recycling - anyone?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

Was wondering what people are doing with their old BlackBerry devices?

In the UK we have a recycling companies which will collect and recycle mobile/cell phones, wipe personal data, give me back a few pennies for the device then sell-on to charities or third world organisations.

There is also an EU directive that states that electronic equipment needs to be disposed of properly and our organisation require a certificate of this from the recycling companies which they are usually happy to provide. I'm not bothered about getting any money for our old devices but would like to be sure the recycling company can wipe the data properly (we have old cradles we will send off too).

Also, how userful are old BlackBerry's without BES?

I've just called 02 (our carrier in the UK) and they have said I can drop them into any 02 high-street shop and have them recycled there.

If anyone has any comments or previous experience of this sort of thing then please reply.

Thanks

Mike.

Can you sell them on ebay? Would be better than recycling, and you could make something from them.
The EU directs that you recycle all products and provide proof?
WOW
