Default Reconciliation question

Please Login to Remove!

I'm sure this has been asked before but I did a search and wasn't able to find an answer...

I'd like to set it up so that when I delete messages on my Blackberry they don't ever appear in Outlook. I have the option to delete messages on both the handheld and mailbox but that doesn't seem to work. Do you need to be running Exchange/BES for this to work? That could be the problem as we're not running Exchange.

Along those same lines, is there a way to make it that messages I have read either in outlook, gmail or my webmail program do not appear as new on the bb? I already have "mailbox wins" as my reconciliation mode and have tried "reconcile now" many times to no avail?

also is there a way to mark all unread in your bb inbox as read?

soooo sorry if these have already been asked, im very bad at forums like this and computers in general

If you delete the message from both the handheld and the mailbox, the message will be removed from the server. But if Outlook performs a Send/Receive before the message is removed from the server, the message will appear in Outlook. You would need BES and Exchange (or any of the other support mail servers) in order to have the message be removed from Outlook when it is deleted from the BB.

It's this that doesn't seem to be working properly. I have Outlook configured to manually send/receive. If I delete the message from the handheld and the mailbox I still end up getting it when I check Outlook. Is there anything special I have to configure here? A friend mentioned needing to have the Blackberry 2.0 OS installed?

I think the 2.0 your friend was talking about was BIS 2.0, not the BlackBerry OS.

OK. So how do I determined if I have BIS 2.0 installed?

So I purchased an 8703e today and would really like to get this feature working so that when I delete e-mails off the Blackberry they don't show up in my Outlook in-box. Any ideas how I can make that happen?
