Default New Blackberry USer - How to shutoff emails sending to Blackberry?

Please Login to Remove!

Just wondering, how to disable email forwarding to my Blackberry Pearl when I want to (currently have limited data plan).

Such as when I am in the office for the day, no need to send to my Blackberry as well.

Thanks

you can set your profile to "phone only" to prevent email from coming to your BB.

But it will all get pushed tot he phone once you change it back. I think the OP is looking for a way to stop all together.

The only way I know is to disable the email accounts in BIS.

Wirelessly posted (8700g: BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

"Phone only" profile won't stop emails from coming to your phone, it will only silence the notification of mail and messages. I am not sure about the Pearl, but the new 8800 has the ability to diable data services, such as mail. Check under options, network, and see if that option is available.

Someone else will likely know for sure the answer on the pearl. If it is not possible, your only option then is to kill your BIS setup daily, or to ignore the mail and delete them at the end of each day.

Options>Network>Data services: off

But once you turn data services back on all the messages will be pushed.

I think I may spend the $25 and buy the "Blackberry Email Relay" software, has anyone else tried it?

If you're on BES there's a setting to disable email forwarding while connected via the USB cable.
