I placed this in the 8100 section but its more of a general Q? sooo.....

I did a search on this and found a couple of anwser's following instructions I found on the forum I called and talked to tmo's blackberry support people and spoke to them and they told me with the blackberry it was not possible to access VPN acct while tethered to my lap-top if I wanted to get VPN I would have to get a windows based unit....I have seen other posting about being able to access there work VPN's has anyone using tmobile been able to do this??

I am able to access my company's VPN with my 8100 on TMo. It's just a web based login page. Different VPN's may have different results.

VPN while tethered with T-Mobile works fine for me too.

well I guess this next question would be for some guys in the tech field...

Error 619, "The port was disconnected." message do I need to get the IT guys to do something....they have told me its a TMO issue?!

I do this all the time with my laptop and VPN client. I use a nortel two factor (pin and keychain token)

mmm any idea's what I should tell the IT dept. to look into so that I to might be able to log in to our VPN from the tethered conection??

It could be a specific port that your VPN client needs bi-deirectional access to. This used to be an issue with the Air cards and some VPN clients.

is there a easy fix for this or its it something that will keep me from accessing the VPN all the time??? Thanks....

Works fine for me, we use Cisco Systems VPN Client V4.6.02.0011.

I can access mine tethered via cable or bluetooth.

so it must be a issue on my companys end...a setting or something they need to tweek....I asked and we are on a microsoft PPTP VPN...thanks for the help

well I talked to the sales rep at TMO store today and he told me you need to be on a BES with there BES data plan for it to work with TMO other wise no dice...
