hey guys i just got my new bb 7520 from nextel and other than the whole text message issue (which i didn't realize untill after i got the phone) i love my bb. I do have a problem though...I'm a college girl and when I am in class my friends like to walkie-talkie me (they have nextel too!) what i want to know is how i can shut the speaker phone off from the menu...the only way i know is hitting the speaker button while i am in a call but that isnt very handy now is it? hopefully you can guide me, these forums are great.

This is very simple. Scroll to the "Profiles" icon (looks like a speaker) then select either quiet or vibrate. You can also edit them and the PTT options are listed as DC (Direct Connect). From there you can choose to have it vibrate when in the holster and not when out if you want.

As for having no true text messaging this is what I do. For outgoing texts send an email to the number@teleflip.com. So example 3219998888@teleflip.com. The only downside is the person won't be able to tell wh the text is from. Also have all your buds store you text address as you bb email addy. That way you can converse back and forth and the messages all come into you inbox as normal.
