Default Full backup tool?

Is there any tool to do a full back (OS & databases) of the Blackberry that can do a full restore?

In the vein of testing OS upgrades, etc...something that can "snapshot" the current state of the BB and restore it to that exact snapshot, via USB.

The Backup and Restore function pretty much grabs everything, from URL history of the browser to the content store to messages currently on handheld, etc. I'd just stick with that.

My desktop tool will not let me use the backup/restore function... I'm assuming since I cannot connect to my BES (I don't know the credentials). When I go to the backup menu, it won't let me select "backup"..

This also, to my knowledge, does not back up the OS as it is? To "restore" to an older OS after an upgrade, you have to downgrade?

It won't backup the OS entirely. It simply does a backup on the data and store databases. This means that you would be able to restore to any version of the OS (I believe the data is cross-compatible with OS versions 3.x and 4.x).

If you do not have access to it, then you likely have an IT Policy set by your BES admins not allowing said backup. I'm not really sure why that would be considered a security risk, but I suppose it could be. As far as any other backup utilities for the handheld, I am not aware of any.
