Default Blackberry Handset and SIM swapping

Please Login to Remove!

I am currently a Blackberry Pearl user in the UK with my device connected to a UK BES server. I am going to be spending the next 12 months in New York (with some time back in the UK) and looking at the options for using a Blackberry. What I propose to do is as follows:

Purchase Blackberry Pearl on T Mobile US with US SIM and number
Activate on UK BES
Have Blackberry Pearl SIM unlocked
Whilst in US use US T-Mobile SIM
When travelling to the UK replace SIM with my UK T-Mobile SIM

This way I have a local number in both countries and I do not have to pay expensive roaming charges.

Does anyone have experience with a similar situation?

Will the BES be happy with the SIM change?

Many thanks

BES won't care... It's tied to the BB via the PIN -- not the SIM.
