Thumbs down Blackberries keep needing reset from GSM

Please Login to Remove!

Hi guys,

running BES 3.6 with 60 users on the UK Vodafone network. 80% of my BBs are 7100v and the rest a mixture.

I have an increasing number of users who call helpdesk about not having received emails and when we check they are on GSM. We talk them through a reset and well enough it goes back to GPRS and they start to receive mail.

Now I dont think this is sw or hw... I have an identical 7100 and this has NEVER happened to me.

Does anyone have a similar problem?

How did it get fixed?

Thanks,

GB

Check Options->About on all 7100's.

What version of BlackBerryOS are you all using? You may be using different versions of the Handheld Operating System on your field devices.

I know this was a known problem with a lot of our 62xx and 72xx devices that were running versions lower than 3.7 (and some 3.7 as well).

are we talking handheld version or BES version? do those 2 need to be on the same level? If not what is the best handheld version to run with BES 3.6?

Will check all field versions tomorrow. Mine currently is v.3.8.0.128 (Platform 1.8.0.91) but I cannot remember installing this... Is this the desktop version or some kind of firmware...

Firmware.
BlackBerry Handheld OS is a firmware.

They are three different separate things:
1. BES Version.
2. Desktop Version
3. BlackBerryOS Version

BlackBerry Handheld OS = BlackBerryOS = Firmware

Thanks Mark. Crystal clear... So how do I upgrade the firmware? (I never saw a download for that...)
