I have been wondering the same thing. How does one get so lucky as to be invited and to get a freebie BB?

You work for a company that buys BB handsets in lots of 10,000 at a time. I have a pal who's IT Director for a large pharmaceutical company and people like Cingular/AT&T, Cisco, etc. are always giving him the goodies. Everything from "test our new router" to "here's box seats to a hockey game".

Yes, I'm jealous.

Not really. You just have your own RIM Rep for your region who's nice enough to send you the information on the launch events. Of course, we're somewhat on the lower end of their totem poll (we only have around 1600 BBs) but we still get the invites.

I guess it pays to be a big user and not a small business (one person shop) owner.

Sure would be nice to get a freebie and catch a break once in awhile though.
