Default Unlocked Devices

Can someone explain what unlocked means? My company just switched from Cingular to T-Mobile, so I have forty Cingular units I'd like to try to sell. Many of the ads I see mention that the unit is unlocked, and I don't know if my devices are or not.

Try searching for the phrase "unlock". That should point you in the right direction

Unlocked means that the device is not network locked to Cingular.

Unlocked allows any simcard to be placed into the Blackberry and connect to another operators network.

But as pointed out above, this discussion has much info on topics such as this.

Many cingulars are unlocked. Try putting a T-Mobile SIM card in the phone and see if it works. If it doesn't you'll get something like "Invalid SIM" or "SIM Card Rejected"
