Default 4.0 OS - Bluetooth

Please Login to Remove!

Does 4.0 enable bluetooth capabilities, particularly bluetooth keyboard?

Can't recall where but I think there's a post/thread on the board somewhere stating no, looks like only headsets will be recognized from the get go with the new BB devices...

I can guarentee just upgrading your device to 4.0 will not provide bluetooth functionality. Bluetooth requires both hardware and software support ( which the 7100 has ).

I know that the 7290 has Bluetooth enable and it is using 3.8

like eradis said.

the 7290 and the 7100 have bluetooth. But not due to the OS. It's hardware.

Bluetooth requires profiles added to it to enable specific device functionality. Currently it appears that 7290 and 7100 will only support headset and handsfree profiles. It probably DOES NOT support a bt keyboard

no again... only the 7100 and 7290 so far will support BT

Nextel has the 7520 coming out by X-Mas and the word is that it will have BT.. Hopefully by then 4.0 will be out and about as well..
