Default Copy sim contacts to Blackberry

Please Login to Remove!

I just got a Blackberry 7230. I wanted to copy the contacts on my sim card to the address book. I know you can copy them one at time but I was wondering if there was a way to copy all of them at the same time. Sorry if this question is answered elsewhere but I couldn't find anything when I searched.

Default I did it yesterday, but can't do it today.

I did this and it worked. I started with a brand new 7100g. I went to the address book, clicked the trackwheel, selected SIM Phone Book, clicked the trackwheel, then clicked Copy All to Address Book.

That worked. However, when I try to do it now, I don't see the "Copy All" option. This stunt may only work when your address book is empty.

This is covered on page 75 of the pdf users guide, which you can download from

I was actually wondering if the opposite would work: Copying all of your address book contacts to the SIM. I have just bought a "going out" phone (Nokia 7280) and would like to be able to take my SIM out of the BB after a long day and put it in the 7280 for a long night.
Any help would be appreciated.

If you subscribe to Nextel's addressbook service, or just about any other web/data package...you can export from the online address book to what they term a "Blackberry File". Which is simply a delimited file. You save the file to your computer and in your intellesync options select the ascii import/export converter as the source for your contacts (rather than Outlook for example). Be sure to click the 'import' radio button (probably normally set to 'synchronize').

This is all assuming you keep your online address book up to date, or you import from your iDEN handset (non RIM) before you complete your upgrade (SIM swap). There is a simple wizard on the site that walks you through it.

Some Nextel Service and Repair Centers will back up your sim on disc (if you ask nicely). This will simply be a comma delimited file (.csv). You are sure at that point to have to play with the formating and field mapping during the 'import' process.

Hope this helps.
