Im new to this whole blackberry thing.

Anyways, I just got a 7105t. I dont know have the blackberry servce. I just have regular tmobile phone serivce. I have the lower case gprs, and it says T-Mobile on the screen. Now heres my questions-

I would like to use AIM, yet everytime i try to sign on, every time it gets to 80%(retrieving buddies) and says -

communication error. Please try again or check your settings.

Is this due to lack of service in my area?, because i only have 1-2 bars at most at my house. i havent tried anywhere else yet

Except when im signed on a different screen name on my computer i can see that im signed on a cellular device with the screen name i used on the phone.

You *need * the BlackBerry data plan to do anything other than phone and sms

Yup, that's what you want!

If you are going to use the built in OZ IM app on the device it DOES use SMS and count as an SMS for every sent and received IM you send....

I have the data plan and unlimited SMS plan so it no big deal to me...

The data plan will give you internet, email ect... But does not cover SMS's

Oh thats fine. Im already usin unlimited texting.
I used to have a motorola a630(has a keyboard) and i was averaging 8000 texts a month.....

If im using a 3rd party IM chat service such as Yak-on. Do i still need unlimited sms??
I'm a heavy AIM user, and ive been reading that the 7100 series built in AIM sucks.

I'd like to get the basic 300 texts a month if possible to lower my phone bill.
