| Systemic issue? Random cold resets/black screen Please Login to Remove! Also posted on the 8700 forum.
Having searched the forums for a few minutes, I realize there is a fairly widespread, new problem affecting 8xxx series Blackberrys (maybe others too?) that involves clusters of random resets. I would like to know how widespread this is and if BB is aware. I have found a number of postings that describe the same behavior and have spoken to several people who have experienced it, as well. This seems to be relatively new - perhaps since the beginning of February and I wonder whether it is some new software that Cingular and/or other companies pushed, or some new system problem.
Here is a description of the random reset - the red light comes on, screen goes pitch dark, and the hourglass comes up in a few moments. Once it happens it can recur several times in an hour, or once or twice a day. It seems to go away for a while (maybe after a battery/hard reboot) and come up after a few days- one week.
I have an 8700c on Cingular, of course.
Everyone seems to think it is their BB, some software they loaded, a loose connection. But reading multiple postings and realizing they are all fairly recent I suspect there is something else going on.
Anybody else have the same issue? Please post. |
