I'm on a BES at my work, and I'm the only one on it. I have a network guy who takes care of it. Here's my issue... If I set a calendar appointment on my comptuer, the appointment syncs correctly OTA to my blackberry (8800). However, if I make an appointment on my Blackberry, the appointment is 1 hour ahead of time on the PC. All patches have been applied. Does this problem sound familiar to any of you, and what could be the possible fix?

Check the time zone on your blackberry and verify the DST patch install is complete (on the BB go into Options and at the top you should see 2007 DST patch - click to open - should say patch applied)

I assume you are running exchange??

When myself or other users create appointments on their BB calendar they show up in Outlook on the pc an hour later than they should be.

Yes, we are running exchange server, 2000, actually. We just have not updated to 2003 or 2007 for that matter. All patches have been applied on the BES and the exchange server. Also, all patches have been applied on my pc and the Blackberry, though I think the 8800 does not need the patch. I did install the patch on the blackberry though. The blackberry is on network time, and my time zone is set properly to pacific time.

Funny I just noticed the same thing..... If user sets appt in Outlook the appt synchs to BB calendar. everything is fine....BUT if a BB user sets the appt on BB, it synchs to Outlook an hour ahead.

The one weird thing is that we have the BES on w2k server and therefore had to do the "manual" time change -which included the reg hacks and all. When I looked at the BES server today to troubleshoot the complaint - the time had changed back an hour...
I have the correct patches on the Exch server - w2k3sp1/exch2k3sp2. I have the correct ESM patch on the BES 4.1.2.15 server. It is a w2k box so I had to do the microsoft recommended time change procedure. I have the DST update on all 8700c handhelds. I also had run the Exch calendaring tool which worked like a charm and all workstations have the dst patch... moreover it was all done in precise order...

any thoughts guys?

yes. the cdo.dll is NOT correct on the BB server. Copy the one from the mail server to c:windows\system32 on the BB server and register it. Remember to turn off BB services first. once done, reboot. problem solved.

I was under the impression that in v3.6 on the BES you had to reg the cdo in system32, but according to 4.x installation instructions the cdo.dll needed to be registered in exchsrvr\bin and a copy place in system32. Are you certain you have the correct info?
I have the correct cdo in both exchsrvr\bin on the BES and Exchange server.

Well lady Di gets credit here guys... Somehow, and believe me I went thru the cdo.dll issue big time last year so I know I had this correct and documented, the cdo.dll on the BES in system32 was overwritten by an older version. The exchsrvr\bin vers is correct on both servers. So I copied the "newer" cdo.dll backover the old one in system32, but did not register it. Restarted the service, no reboot required ...and it works. Im goiing to over write the new one with the old one again and see if I can recreate the problem.

We're having the same issue as described in this thread.

BES 4.06 running on Windows 2003
Exchange 2000 running on Windows 2000

There are no problems with Outlook/Exchange for desktops, only our handhelds. When a calendar item is created on a BB, it is one hour AHEAD on the user's Outlook calendar. If an item is created in Outlook, it shows up as the correct time on the BB.

I have checked CDO.DLL on both the Exchange and Blackberry servers and they are the same version.

Another interesting issue that is company-wide is that the handhelds are not showing the same number of read/unread messages as a user's Outlook inbox. Could these be related?

same issue, same version of cdo.dll is registered on both servers...
