Anyone here have any good information on when this will be fixed? Nextel customer care says later today or tomorrow, my sales rep dances around like he has squirrels in his trousers.

I have 11 out of 100 BB users without ANY service.

Sorry, I can't resist.....but the song and dance act is why I dropped them like a hot potato. Perhaps if they all had squirrels they would be better off.

Well I just got off the phone with a Nextel rep that is a good friend of mine. I was told that the problem is getting bigger rather than smaller, or corrected. It all has to do with the fact the Sprint and Nextel merged the data networks this week. I think someone's head will roll for this one. My BB has been out since Sunday 3 or 4pm. I will post if I get any other information.

BTW...I am in Altoona, PA so it all across PA.

Sorry for the mult-posts, I keep forgetting things. I was also told that if you BB is still working FOR NO REASON TURN IT OFF, MASTER REST OR ANY OTHER KIND OF RESET. I should stay on the network for you don't do any of the above. Has to do with the data packet network and needing it to register the phone on the network.

what service is out? PTT or data?

For me its everything no phone, ptt, web, email ect. I got nothing.

It's apparently PTT and packet.

I've power cycled mine a couple times and pulled the battery twice with no issues, however, mine wasn't one of the ones affected.

We have a recurring issue where text and/or MMS messages stop coming through so we have to pull the battery to make it work. This was prior to the outage.

I finally got back on yesterday. Tech support had to do something to get it back though. All is working well...for now!
