Default Help with Text

Hey all...

I've been wondering for a while and I know that with BB, you will need to know what carrier someone has to send them a text/email....but I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a certain way to sending a random text message without knowing the carrier that, that particular person has for the cell.

I hope that made sense, I've had my BB for over 2 years now, used to it, but I do miss being able to send just about anyone in the world a text just by knowing their phone number.

Any insight would be greatly greatly appreciated.

Thanks

if your just sending as a regular text, then all you need is the phone number of the cell. if your wanting to send it as a email without knowing the provider, look at this link regarding teleflip...Teleflip vs. SMS

Many thanks for the help. I'm not sure I understand the need for the teleflip.

I've the 7520, with nextel....and I've been told by cust. service that even text messages have to go out as an email on BB's. Is that not true?

I have an option to email and an option to MMS (which never works for me)

Can you direct me to a page about texting from the 7520 in laymans terms? To my knowledge, I don't think I'm able to send a text as if I had a "regular" cell phone.

Thanks a whole bunch!
