Question Help a Techie out, will ya?

Please Login to Remove!

I've been quoting a news article I read 6+ months ago that supposedly described the efforts of a small number (1-4) of 'white-hat' hackers to read 'erased' data from the memory of a BlackBerry.
I'm now on the hotseat within my organization to back this up, and *cannot* find any reference to this whatsoever. I *know* I didn't make it up - but it's possible I transposed devices mentally...
Can anyone recall seeing a similar article, and can point me in the right direction? Or is all this grey hair catching up with me?
Thanks for the assist!

I don't recall the article(s) but it is possible, just as hackers (hate them freaks) take old HD's and hack info off of them....

That's why I recommend never just doing a wipe (from device) on the BB before selling or sending it back....

Always use Jl_Cmder OR javaloader to wipe it....

Sure - except that these clowns supposedly succeeded, which should have set off alarm bells on every BB blog around, but I can't find a reference to it anywhere....

Identity theft and theft of info from devices and HD's is rampant! It would *not* surprise me one bit... I don't know why it would set bells off as this is an on-going issue these days....
