Question HA solution for BES

Please Login to Remove!

Hello folks,

I'm trying to implement a HA solution at customer side and have view questions.
I must mention that I have little/none BES experience.
1. What will happen if I start up BES but the Exchange server is not ready?? Will BES stop working or will try to reconnect to Exchange??
2. What will happen to BES if I have to power down the Exchange server for maintenance? After I bring Exchange back up and running will BES reconnect to Exchange automatically or will I have to do it manually??

Thanks in Advance for Your Help,
Slawek

Default

There is a sequence to starting the servers.

If servers have to be rebooted for maintenance, they must be rebooted in the following order:

1) Domain Controller
2) Exchange
3) BES
