Migrating from one BES Server to a new BES Server

I have a question on migrating to a new BES server (Win2k3). I’m currently running BES 4.0.0.110 (v4.0 wo/ Service Packs)(Win2k3) and want to migrate to a new server. I have all the prerequisites installed as well as the same BES level. My question is: Do I have to change the name of the server name and machine name in the database in order for the new BES server to work properly? I used the command set:

Use besmgmt
Go
Update ServerConfig set ServiceName = “(New BES Sever NETbios Name)” where Id = 1
Go
Update ServerConfig set MachineName = “(New BES Sever NETbios Name)” where Id = 1
Go

I have tried to start all services on the new BES server, but it will not communicate to the handhelds. I can send email, but I cannot receive.


Please give me some advice on my major issue.
