The only solution I have found is the following:
1. If you are BIS and use Desktop Manager to sync, then in the custom field mapping delete the mapping of Mr./Mrs. title. I recall (not 100%) sure that when you next sync, they will go away.
2. If you are on BES, you need to ask your BES Admin to set up a custom-mapping for your handheld (so it doesn't affect anyone else), which is quite easy from the BES Manager. Unfortunately your handheld will not delete the titles if you have already done Enterprise Activation except on contacts that you edit in Outlook that get re-synced...unless you do Enterprise Activation again.
If anyone else has a better solution, I'd be quite interested.
