Default Is an unlocked BB FULLY unlocked?

Please Login to Remove!

I have ordered an 8700g locked to o2 in the UK from e-bay and plan to get it unlocked for use on Turkcell in Turkey. I already have a Blackberry Data plan with them as I've been using the Blackberry Connect software on my Nokia E61. I'm now a little worried as I read something somewhere that said the unlocking only unlocks the phone side of the device and not the e-mail / internet functions. If that isthe case, this is going to be useless to me!

John, you should be fine. You don't say if it was used or not... if was used, you MAY need to have the previous user remove their BIS account or any BES IT policies killed... If new, you should be good to go after unlocking.

I agree with JSanders' suggestion. One of the perils of buying on ebay.

generally unlocked means unlocked and you are clean. but i think i know what you may be reffering to

i got a used 8700R a while back and couldnt get the data working, i found out the problem was that the pin was still registered to the other person, they clear that up in a minute if you tell them.

other than that maybe coming up there should be no issues at all

A subsidy lock is either active or inactive. It can't be inactive for voice and active for data. As was mentioned, there could be other factors that affect data availability but they have nothing to do with the subsidy lock.
