According to the product id listed there it is the Blackberry 7100T/V. The list of qualified BT profiles is very interesting. The 7100 doesn't seem to be limited to handsfree and handset profile only.
Quote:
Qualified profile :
- GAP
- HandsFree-AG
- Headset-AG
- SDP
- Serial-DevA
- Serial-DevB

Does anyone know what GAP and SDP are?

Bluetooth keyboard support perhaps, or would that have to be HID? And what are the potentials with serial Bluetooth support?

That's the qualification; the hardware does support serial capabilities for Bluetooth GPS and keyboards;

But I do not think they plan to software-enable the serial capabilities at least at first.... I do know the hardware capability DOES technically exist to work with Bluetooth keyboards -- it's just a software upgrade to enable this.

They may not allow this, because of their biggest customer (the government), but it might be possible on consumer BlackBerries. Here's hoping for BlackBerryOS 4.1 supporting external Bluetooth keyboards and GPS.

But it does give me a valuable lead. I have sent an email message to mattayi(at)rim.com pointing to my
Bluetooth keyboard thread!

Let's see if he responds, and I will post the response (but only with his permission).

I'm sure if RIM doesn't do it, some third party may take on the BT chipset and create a third party ap that will allow things such as keyboards and what not. My personal preference with the BT chipset is syncing without having to dock it anymore. Sit in my living room, and sync via BT to the computer 20 feet away, that would be nice, and one thing I strongly miss with my Clie ux50 I had.
