Cool Lost Re-Charge LED

Please Login to Remove!

I no longer receive a flashing power LED when I am charging via AC.

I have turned off Options < Keyboard < LED Coverage Indicator.
I have hidden Desktop power icon and am turning off from the switch.

Is this a configuration problem? It seems that previously I had a flashing light while charging which remained constant when I was fully charged.

Wirelessly posted (8700g: BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

The LED does not flash differently when you are charging. If you have the charging icon next to your battery icon--you are charging.

Correct, it blinks orange when under 15% charge I think, but it doesn't give a different LED blink while charging.

hey but they do have a cool effect, well at least my 7100T, It has a fading yellow light when the BB' is in standby mode and on the charger just like the Apple MacBooks when they are in standby.

Turn the Coverage Indicator on, And Press and hold the power button so it turns off, not just the screen, And Not the full power off, Now Plug it in.

Turning the coverage indicator on has nothing to do with the red light that flashes when you are charging the Berry. It only flashes when the power is off and you are plugged in and charging. When it is fully charged the red light stops flashing and remains a steady red.

If your light is not working, but is it still charging? Could be a defective light. If it's not flashing and not charging, then look at the connection and the wire to see if that is the problem.

Mine does the fade in and out when the phone is turned "off" aka standby-off and put on to charge. It will also synchronize with the desktop manager like this too but doesn't have to turn on yet.

I did this. There is NO light. Not that it matters. The old Palmspring pda had it right: re-charging = blinking green; continuous green = CHARGED.

Even the new Seidio USB cradle can't get this right. You only get a continuous blue LED that shows proper connection.

Let's add blinking RED light for reset.

Where's the chart that describes all light possibilities? There seems to be a lot of confusion here.

Just tried it with my 8700g. When device is powered off and plugged in to computer, or wall, the LED flashes green. When fully charged it becomes a steady green.

If the power is on, it does not flash or give a solid green.

If I am in an area with coverage, AND I go into options and enable it, the LED will flash green. I leave it disabled though.

In my profiles, I enable repeat notification, so when I get a message it flashes red for up to 15 minutes.

Why isn't the above simple enough? My wife's 7290, by the way, behaves the same way, although I think the only color is red.

sort of off topic but sort of on topic, What does the green flashing light mean when running and the blue flashing light mean when running?

They mean the same thing they do when walking or sitting.

Blue has to do with bluetooth. Green has several meanings as noted in a previous post.

TUX ORIGINAL POSTER: For some reason, when I now recharge, and the BB is powered off, and using AC, I do get a flashing green light and, finally, a solid green. The color actually shifts a little from greenish-reddish to pure green.

MAYBE the light originally did not come on because I was fully charged?? So, basically, the charging light is back and I'm back to normal -- I just don't know why it never came on before . . .

If the power is on, it does not flash or give a solid green. OK!!!!

I sure wish there was a light chart!
