Default Curious: My old 957 still viable?

Please Login to Remove!

Doing some spring cleaning, I discovered that I still have my old 957 which is in darn good condition, laying around. I bought it circa 2002 directly from RIM, and I remember my service was from RIM directly, not through a cellular carrier.

If I wanted to use it today - say to give to my mom who is otherwise a technophobe - is the network on which it wants to run still viable? I know that Palm.net shut down several years ago, would this old RIM device be in the same boat?

Thanks,
Lewis
