Hi!

I am a new convert to the blackberry world, having come from the pocket pc side. I got myself a 7250 on the Verizon network running on 4.1 OS. I have set up my free blackberry email and my work email is POP3. I have that set to forward to the blackberry address so that I have push capability. And I have disable my work email from being forwarded to the handheld so that the berry doesn't poll every 15 mins and I have to go through 2 sets of emails.

The issue is that I am unable to send from my blackberry when I specify the From address as my work address. This is the error message I get:

The following message to <username@companyname.com> was undeliverable.
The reason for the problem:
5.1.0 - Unknown address error 550-'5.7.1 <username@companyname.com> Access not allowed'

I have resent the Service Book to the berry and it worked immediately after that, but after that its been a no go.

Any thoughts? I would greatly appreciate any help.

Kazmi, if I read your post correctly, if you have your work email forwarded to your Blackberry address (i.e., forwarded to ) you will not have your work email address as "send from" choice.

To check your message services allowed on the BB, go to Options > Advanced > Message Services. Highlight the message service, and press the ALT key. Do any other addresses show up?

You can also check by going to Options > Advanced > Service Books. What service books do you see with the @ sign, which would indicate the setup of an email address.

Thanks JSanders for your reply.I checked the message services and I get two options - one for my blackberry address and another for my work one.(maybe because I set it up in BIS online?). When I go to compose a message, in the send from field I can choose which address to send from.

The service books: I see both the addresses followed by a [CMIME] and a check mark preceeding the names.

My issue is that the outgoing server is giving me an error (SMTP).I am getting mails fine and I can send, only NOT to my co-workers.

Kazmi, ok, gotcha. I don't know. So the error message is from your SMTP server?

Easy suggestion, have you pulled the battery and let the phone reboot, and tried it again? Sometimes that will solve the oddest of glitches.

Spoke with the verizon data service - no help there. Am rebooting as I type this. I am in love with the berry - just need to get this right.....thanks for your help though.

I assume its my SMTP server having the problem since I get the mail undeliverable receipt from : Mail Delivery System [MAILER-DAEMON@smtp04.bis.na.blackberry.com]

anyone know the blackberry SMTP server address for verizon? I could try another thing (and this is a long shot): authorize the SMTP server in my work server but I dont know if that will do the trick?

You mail server in the office does not allow emails from the Internet signed with your office domain name.

Except blackberry, only spammers can send emails to your office from the internet signed with your office email address.

Ask mail server administrator in your office whitelist blackberry (RIM) mail servers.

Thank you Berry One...I will ask my IT to do this but before I do, is there a particular list of RIM servers which they could blanket whitelist? would you or someone know where to get this list from? I ask since my IT dept support is based out of india and well, I just want to give them complete info for here in the US.

bumping this since I still need this info...any server admins here who use the Merak/IceWarp email server and who would know what exact settings I need to enable inorder to be able to send via my BB?
