Default Twitter on Blackberry?

Please Login to Remove!

Does anyone here use Twitter on their BB? If so, are you using via text or IM? I have considered adding it but DO NOT want to do it via text messages.

Just curious.

I think of it as short rambling to your friends or whoever is on your list. While it seems you always need a reason to send a text msg., Twitter would be just blurting something to a group. But remember, that group can blurt to you so your inbox could get quite the workout if you have chatty/often-bored friends.

I use Twitter (Twitter I either do it via text messages or JiveTalk IM. I know right now there's some problems with Twitter's IM feature, but once it's back up and running, that's certainly and option.

Wink

I honestly do not see whats so enticing about twitter? Is it just simply telling someone what you are doing then and there?

I don't think anyone is that interested that I am eating a PBJ sandwich right now....

just pointing out the obvious hole in your position: 8million people have never cared about anything you do - including this post - yet you posted it

I have alot of friends that are in other towns, at school, etc that do not have Blackberrys. If everyone had a BB (and I wish they did) then we could all live in a wonderful BB Messenger nirvana for staying in touch.

Option 2.

With my friends being near or on a computer most of the time Twitter is a nice way to stay in touch and just ramble in a very brief nature about what is going on with me or them at any given moment.

I don't want Twitter so I can add 10,291 friends. I just want it as it seems like it would be a friendly app to stay in touch with friends with random comments without anyone feeling the need to reply. There is something to be said for staying in touch in a manner other than feeling obligated to return an email, voicemail, etc.

did I sell it....?
if so can someone help me figure out how to get it to work with GTalk already...?

I have to admit, option two seems like a good point....

Thumbs up

Found the below info on pinstack....I think that should solve your prob...

Per the thread:

Tiny Twitter

They're writing apps for mobile devices and already have a JAD for Blackberries. It works pretty well. Two downsides, thus far:

1. When you send a message (now called a "tweet,") the menu options aren't necessarily so intuitive. You actually click "Update" to send, not, "Done."

2. Each Tweet has the tag [Tiny Twitter] behind it. This takes away from your character allotment. Unfortunately, I've not found a way to turn it off.

Check it out.

Twitter just started working with Gtalk and Jabber and AIM should be working soon.

What I had to do was add first activate my IM (Gmail address associated with Gtalk IM) via my Twitter home page. Then I had to add "Twitter@twitter.com" as a contact in Gtalk. Once Twitter was an accepted contact I had to send a code (provided when you activate at home page) via GTalk to [email address], which is now a contact. This starts a conversation and now everything IM I send to [email address] gets posted as an update.

Sweet.

Just a FYI, it looks like the folks who make Twitterberry don't allow you to navigate directly into the .jad file. I kept getting 503 errors on my Blackberry's browser... but could get to it all day long on my desktop. On a whim, I went to their main site from my BB, and had no problem getting into the OTA link by navigating through the site.

I downloaded Twitterberry but just cannot get it to work. I am not sure it works with BIS per the requirements on their site.
