Default Multiple Blackberry's on One Account

Please Login to Remove!

I have a boss who wants to carry two Blackberry's with him when he travel in case he loses one. He wants both to be active and sync to his inbox through the BES.

Can this be done?

I've read a few posts about forwarding, but nothing about actually syncing them up to the same account. He wants it so that if he could use either one interchangeably.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

No, that is not possible. The only other option would be if you have OWA (Outlook Web Access 2003) you can set your BIS account on the other device to get mail, but it is delayed and the calendar functions don't synch (or at least they don't on mine)

How did he get to be someone's boss if he loses valuable company equipment?

If he is really that prone to loosing thing you got other issues on your hands. I would suggest cuffing the BlackBerry to his wrist like the "football" that is always close to the President.

Anyway, what I would do is give him a backup device that has an active data plan. Also provide him with a newly reset Enterprise Activation password that has been set to be valid for 30 days. Either that or install Desktop Manager on his laptop so he can perform a wired activation himself.

Why would he need to use both simulataneously if the second one is a backup? I'd recommend just having an EA password prepared for him as you can only have one Blackberry per BES/Exchange account.

The Exchange Hosting company that hosts my BES(info in sig) lets you activate and set up a blackberry in your Control Panel. So if he looses one all he has to do is activate the back up. I

or as Stonent suggested he can use the second one to access OWA in case something goes wrong with the primary.

I love it when people ask for the technology to do something it simply cannot, then look at me as if i am lying or ask for a second opinion etc.

They assume that if they can conceive it, it must be possible....morons...
