Exclamation Default Outgoing Problem

Please Login to Remove!

I was using Cingular's BIS with my gmail account. Yesterday I was added to my corporation's BES server. Wireless syncing e-mail, contacts, calendar seem to be working fine. However, when I attempt to send an e-mail I get an error that states "Desktop Email program unable to submit message."

If I change the "Send Using" dialog in the compose e-mail screen to my @mycingular.blackberry.com e-mail address it sends fine.

I have two questions:
1. What is causing this problem in the first place?
2. Is there a way to just force the Send Using default to be my @mycingular.blackberry.com address?

Since you are now on BES, there is most likely a corporate IT policy preventing you from sending via BIS.

Have you spoken to your BES admin? That would be the place to start.

They really didn't have any insight. Their response was to call my cell provider. Haha.

Yes, to #2, but that is not the best option as you don't want everyone in the world to know you blackberry address, if it starts getting spammed, etc., not much you can do. And people/clients will start emailing you at the BB address and it will not show in your mail on your desktop PC. You really need to get the BES configured properly for your corporate email.

BUT, to answer your question, go to Options, Advanced Options, Message Services, and highlight one of the services. Scroll the trackwheel to highlight the one you want to be the default, and save.

Now, you are going to have ongoing problems, if someone emails you at your corporate email address, and you reply, it will automatically reply FROM that corporate email address. You can not change that in a REPLY email.
