For those of you that sync your BlackBerry with the Lotus Client via Desktop Manager...are you able to do this with 8? Desktop Manager wont let me choose Calendar or Contacts to sync since I upgraded to 8, i reinstalled Desktop Manager with the latest version and still no success...
Thx

I'm in the same spot. I am also using Notes 8 beta and can't make the DM to accept the Lotus Notes options in the Sync Configuration. The 'ok' button disables as soon as I select the Lotus Notes....
As an employee of a company closely affiliated with Notes (and having run Hannover since preAlpha.... I ask you to read Between the lines in My message I can assure you that all current incarnations of Notes 8 will NOT work with Desktop Manager until RIM updates thier s/w.
On the upside, contacts automagically sync as part of your regular replication process.

I, too have Notes Beta V8 GA and cannot sync to notes for my Calendar. I suspect that we will have to wait on getting a new version of DM that will address the problem.

As per my post right above you, RIM will be updating thier Desktop Manager software (eventually). When they do, Notes 8 will be supported.
FWIW I've been on N8 for quite a while and the wireless sync continues to work flawlessly.
How about official support? -

Seems like an easy fix--worked for me. Notes 8 has been out of beta for several months, but I haven't seen any other threads or discussion around Notes 8 support. Anyone heard when they're going to make it official?
Interesting in those registry settings that the path to Notes data is on the D: drive and the path to Notes itself is on the C: drive. Not a standard configuration for Notes. Your mileage may vary. ;)
As one poster pointed out, Notes 8 sync runs like a top via OTA. Your local address book can be made part of your server stored e-mail file. You do need to turn on the address book synch to the mail file within the Notes 8 client. Then all your Local Address book changes will be sent OTA every time you sync. The Journal can by sync'd as well. However, that is a manual process. Look at the Action Items for Domino Web Access and select Synchronize Journal. The next time your BB synchs OTA, your Jounal will update your Memopad notes. This will basically eliminate the need to do an Intellesych from the PC at all.
I can't seem to fix this. I don't know what you changed in the registry...did you just put in a 7.0 where the 8.0 was?
Mine looks the same after I renamed the folder from 8.0 to 7.0, but I still can't get a connection (except that my file path is C:\Program Files\IBM\Lotus\Notes\Data).
Can anyone help me out here...I'm not a wiz at messing with the registry, but I need to because I can't get any of my contacts to sync right now.

I am using an 8820 wirelessly syncing the address book, email and journals back to a Domino 8 server using the iNotes(DWA) 8 template. These functions work perfectly.
As there are some functions that are still better to be used through the DM, it is important for my organization to have a complete Notes 8 solution. RIM has stated the current DM is not compatible with Notes 8 client. RIM along with Lotus is stating there will be a DM version compatible with Notes 8 in the November timeframe. Personal opinion ... I suspect this will be DM 4.3.

Notes supports this just fine and as matter of fact is something I routinely do and consult my customers to do. The data directory should be in its own path either a new partition or separate drive altogether. Notes does not care where it resides, as long as the notes.ini points to it. If you have an OS issue, then you can always reinstall Notes saving your data as it is in a separate partition or device.
RIM has a release of DM (patched) that works with Notes 8. Yes, they just needed the look at the new keys that point to the Notes 8 'classic' program location (where the .ini resides). I have been testing this and it works as expected, I have no clue as to what RIM will do with it, but I would assume it will be posted shortly.

Probably wasn't as clear as I should have been. You are dead on that Notes will support it. I was only pointing out that it is not the default for Notes and anyone who simply applied your values as posted might have problems if they had Notes installed to the default values.

Where can we find the patched DM version that works with Notes 8? Is there a link that is publicly available?

There have been a number of links to the new 4.3 ver of DM. I got my hands on one yesterday and sure enough, it does solve the Notes 8 local synch issues.
Just update to any version of Blackberry Desktop Manager from 4.3 and up. This was only an issue for the earlier versions of the Desktop Manager. Reg Fix is no longer required. Notes 8 is supported in 4.3, 4.5, 4.6 & 4.7
I tried to dwnload the reg files as described above, but the link took me to a blank link.
BB will only sunc calander data one way, from Lotus to BB. If I try to sunc both ways or one way from BB to Lotus, I recieve a Windows error message and then the DM (4.5 in my case) crashes. We are using Lotus 8.
The DM DID sync both ways flawlessly for months, then stopped.
I have tried every version of BB DM as well as cleared out the registries between installs.
Any ideas?
My BB has gone from a productivity tool to a HUGE time waster now.
Hey all, someone in my test group found the fix, it just needs the 7.0 registry keys.
The image attached are the settings we use. LN is installed to C:\Lotus\Notes
The txt file is actually the reg key, you can rename it and use it or modify it for your install location.
Can you please PMe with that reg entry, I am trying to get BB Manager to install and I think tis will help (I have the 8.5 client and the BB manager doesnt even show up when I try).

blackberry manager... I can install desktop manager 4.6....
I was having trouble with my BB manager so I uninstalled it... Now when I try to install (BB Ent Server 4.1 full) it does not have a listing for the BB Manager.
