Blackberry selection help please?

I currently own a T/E. I use it ALOT at work for reference as I work in a doctor's office.

I'm looking to upgrade soon and I'm having a hard time finding something with

a)built-in keyboard (a must as I spend a good bit of time searching reference material)

b)wi-fi

c)touch-screen...I hate using a stylus and rarely do. I have small fingers and can forego the stylus

I really like the looks of the blackberry. My apprehension lies in the lack of third-party software working on it...(like I said, lots of medical software on mine). I also do use the DTG on the T/E so I don't know if there's something comparable on the Blackberry?

I really don't need a phone as I have a cell I can survive with.

Also would I HAVE to subscribe to their internet service? I really only care about being able to connect at hot spots and at home.

TIA,
Lorraine

PS...I had to fudge the truth in my profile as it wouldn't let me register without stating a model I owned? Hope that's not an issue.

It should work...if you can find one. That was a 2004-5 release that never stuck. ;-)

Ah...I see, thanks for the input.

Not as much 3rd party software for the BB either. At least not as much as for Palm or Windows Mobile devices.

I will make this short, BB is not the device your looking for. No wi-fi, less 3rd party aps, no touch screen, required to have a bb data plan. I would suggest palm or windows mobile. (I can't beleive I just said that. :-?)

Well, four strikes -- it's pretty clear. Personally I'm very happy that the BB's don't have touch screens. It's just one more thing to break. The digitizers have always failed on my touch screen devices or they've gone so far out of alignment that they were totally unusable.
