I just wanted to know if any of you guys have used it? I mean $120 for a housing replacment, $60 for a new front lens? Jeebus!

Bumping this thread... I may be in for an 8703e LCD replacement (backlight is bad; I assume it and the LCD are a unit?), but I want to be reasonably sure that my repair would be done correctly.

No, backlight is part of the main circuit board. Contact RIM for repair, they may even do it if your out of warranty as its a unique issue.

Update: A Google search landed me at Cell Phone Repair Center – Doctor Cell Phone – Committed to Customer Service and Quality here in Dallas. They had a display in stock in their Irving store, and I went there today. They replaced the display while I waited, in less than 10 minutes, and it works like a champ!

Cost was basically the same as the other places listed here, ~$160 or so. Admittedly, based on a sample size of one, I can recommend this place for repairs. They did a great job for me!
