I know this is a little late, but I found your post on a search for this problem. Now that I know the answer, I'll post here too.
Connect to machine.
On berry, delete the desktop(SYNC) service book
On desktop, Go to advanced restore.
Do your thing
Disconnect and reconnect to get service book back.
