Default Entering letters in phone screen

Please Login to Remove!

I recently upgraded the software in my 7290 to 4.1. Since then I can't enter letters in the phone screen (and get direct access to names and phone numbers from the address book). I need to first go to the address book, select the phone number and select dialing it. Can anyone help me with advice.

Thanks.
