Is there a reason why nobody has thought of a way to change the startup screen? Like mine says tmobile and my friend says atat on his red pearl

Because only RIM can do it?
That seems like a good reason to me

But if we can hack the themes and stuff and service books, why not startup screen?

The startup screen is not written into the OS....it's hard coded to the BB.

Do you really think you're the first to ask this? If it could be done people would have done so already...

Really...
I don't believe so...
Let's see if we can find some threads on that.

And modifying an ALX file to put on other vendor themes is not exactly hacking, either....

Here's a question - why bother changing the start up screen? It's only there a couple seconds and how often do you power cycle your device anyway?

Once a day. lol. I just want to make sure all my system resources are top notch. I like to avoid any crashes as there's a lot of data on there that I would be dead if it was lost.

Besides, be cool, if i could put up a generic RIM startup screen or even a personal screen that says if phone is lost, please call etc etc etc. lol

Moot point. Currently, the start up screen can not be changed outside of RIM. If this situation changes, I'm sure it will be posted.
