Default Default email account

Please Login to Remove!

One of my colleagues in the US just recently switched from BIS to BES. He is using two POP3 accounts - one from Cingular and one from another service provider on the Blackberry.

We performed an Enterprise Activation OTA which went fine, but whenever he sends emails now the default email is still the Cingular address and not the new address from the BES (lets call it [email address]).

Ive checked the settings under
Options>Advanced Options>Message Services
and on all three devices that we switched show "Desktop" as default account. Two of them Desktop refers (as desired) to the Exchange Server account / BES for the user. One one device as already mentioned is still refering to the Cingulars account.

How can I change it to the Exchange Server account? Will I have to delete the POP3 accounts? Im a little bit "frightened" that recreating the POP accounts will have an impact on the proper wireless synching (I read some topics that described this problem...)

Many thanks in advance for your help.

BES: 4.2
Devices: BB 8700c

Default

Setting Desktop to default under Options>Advanced Options>Message Services should do it. Just remember that if a specific account was used to compose an email to a specific recipient that the BB will override the default account setting and use that last account used to email the recipient.

Deleting and recreating the POP3 accounts probably won't help any but they won't affect wireless sync (provided you don't delete any BES service books). BIS and BES are entirely separate. I have yet to see any anecdotal experiences that show a causal and not coincidental relationship...

Well the strange thing is that it IS set to Desktop...
Maybe we should try to change it to Cingular, send a testmessage, restart the device, change to Desktop and test again / restart.

Right now I have no other clue. BTW Takeshi: you are much closer to my colleagues than I am. Youre in the same town and Im accross the Atlantic in Austria/Europe.
