wierd problem on bunch of old devices, 7750, 7280, 7780, 7290

when use "compose" icon from main screen, it deafults to address book to pick up an email address, or use once option, and also To: field is visible

while in messages, click track wheel and select compose, and it still goes to address book,

on a 8700 device, 7250 device, while using compose option from messages , it goes to blank email message instead of going to address book.

am i forgetting something here? this is how it is suppose to be?

exchange 2003 with BES 4.1 SP2, nothing has changed recently

I noticed that change when composing emails recently but in my case the device hadn't changed (older 7290) but because our company had been bought we migrated to a new exchange environment so that would lead me to think it was related to some setting at the BES level but that would be contradictory to your scenario where you say your exchange set up has stayed constant... strange

I believe that's how the pre OS 4.1 devices worked for composing mail.
