Default Is anyone getting Blackberry email now? - 04-17-2007, 08:02 PM

I am on hold with RIM for 30 mins. It appears BB email is down both BES and BIS. We have users on Tmobile and Cingular.

Same issue here.
I thought our Active Directory security died again.

Nothing in and or out.

I am not even getting EDGE on one handheld...the other has it..

also, it seems trying to login to BIS is displaying issues alone, and then when I try to send service books it says "Processing, please wait"...and it just hangs..

Glad I'm not the only one. Had just updated my 8800's OS to the new 4.2.1.90 Rogers release and when the phone booted back up I was in tiny 'edge' mode and couldn't register via HRT or log on to BIS.

What timing! Thought I'd really messed up...

I just got through to RIM tech support and they said they are experiencing a nationwide outage, at least in the US. Not sure if this is everyone, or if it's just widespread and is affecting multiple areas. There is no ETA on the resolution. I am located in Hawai`i and my BES got disconnected at about 2:21pm local time (8:21pm Eastern, we're six hours behind) with error messages "Ping Response not received" and "Connection failed". It reconnected at about 3pm but emails were still not going through, ending up with a red X and error messages "Failed to contact service", "General send failure", and "Transaction error - timeout". A few did come through at 3:50pm but that was it. I guess we will just have to wait. Much as it's inconvenient to my users, it really is nice sometimes for these problems to be out of my hands! ;) I wonder if we'll see this on the news tomorrow...

our company has 4 BES servers in North America and 1 in Europe. The one connected to SRP.EU.BLACKBERRY.NET is working fine. Outage appears to be North America only.

Our engineers just got off the phone w/ RIM who confirmed problem was with them but had NO ETA.

Pardon my ignorance, but does this effect your other email accounts being pushed to your BB?

I have no bb service as of right now. Errr! What happened to BB reliability??? This better be an isolated incident, I have only had my BB like 3 months and already an outage.

Service= VERIZON WIRELESS, BIS, Pennsylvania

Add me to the list...105 users, Verizon, T-Mo, Cingular & Sprint....I guess I can't complain TOO much. This is only the 2nd RIM outage I've seen in the 2 1/2 yrs we've been using BB.

I just spoke with our support at Rogers - they have no ETA at this time, and could not provide any details about it.

All 9 of my BES servers (4500 users) are connected, but there is no mail flow. I've seen one or two messages trickle through, but for all intents and purposes, we've been down since before 8:32 (the time they say the service went down).

Is everyone having fun yet?

Join #blackberry_outage on the EFNET irc network. we can talk about this in realtime.

Times like this it's nice to have two browsers. The MEdia Net browser via Cingular works fine.

I agree. In the grand scheme of life, this is nothing.

But this is a BB forum. If people are upset and want to vent about the fact that their devices are not functioning properly, this is a good place for them to do so. If this were a thread about VaTech, then your comment would be appropriate. As it stands, I know you are a mod, but just lighten up a little maybe?
