Default Blackberry freezing every five minutes? What is it doing?

Please Login to Remove!

Does anyone else have this issue? Every five minutes, my Blackberry 7250 on Verizon with BES locks up for about 25 seconds. It does not accept any key input and the screen does not update for anything. It does this with all of the Blackberrys in my firm at basically the same time and length of time, and is EXTREMELY annoying as I can be typing an e-mail, and then get locked out for nearly half a minute. Essentially, 10% of the time, I can't do anything on the Blackberry because of this.

I assume it is synching the contacts, calendar, e-mails, but I don't think the Blackberry needs to completely stop responding to user input.

We had a similar "haywire" unit and we totally wiped it and re-loaded the OS and it seemed to fix the issue.

After a total wipe, I would try just loading the base firmware (OS) without ANY other components (uncheck them). See if it runs ok for an hour, then if it does load the other application components. See if this fixes the problem.

Otherwise, the unit could be defective and I'd just return it under warranty.

ALL of the units in my firm have the same issue however. I would have a hard time believing that all of them are somehow defective, and they have the freezing at roughly the same interval for the same period of time.

I initially thought it was part of the BES 4.0 system and it is a part of the Blackberry software synching itself with new information. Perhaps this is the case or it is something else.
