Default Synchronizing Blackberry 8800 (and 8100) via Bluetooth on Dell Latitude D420

Please Login to Remove!

I cannot synchronize (or even communicate with my Blackberry 8800 (and 8100) via Bluetooth on Dell Latitude D420.

I tried all options, to no avail.

Dell Tech support "admitted" there was a problem with the Toshiba Bluetooth drivers on my device, but said they do not know the solution... unless some BB experts figured this out.

I have no problems communicating via Bluetooth with my BB devices and any other device, but I have this problem with my Dell Latitude D420.

I searched the web but no solution.

Any clues?

Thanks a lot.

Remove your Toshiba driver from your computer. Just use the default MS native one. After reboot, you should pair your BB with your computer again, then BB device manager will detect your BB.
I have a Dell 810 and no problem. I heard this is because of "security reason..".
But .. MS native one does not support BT headset.

Thanks a lot. I had actually tried this option, nd had to back off because of te BT headset... which I used regualrly for Skpye. Unfair choice... -- I am still hoping Toshiba or Dell will find a soluton. Thanks again.

I think that RIM does not allow syncing over bluetooth, I think its a security thing. As for other services, I'm not sure what else could be done other than tethering for modem use and their are several threads on that.

Sure they do. It's been a feature for a while now.
Check your Desktop Manager settings (Options > Connection Settings > Bluetooth Settings) and you'll find settings for Bluetooth sync.
As mentioned above, there are very specific hardware and driver equirements for it to work properly.

Of course they support it. They even provide documentation on how to set it up.
